Sell your iPhone 16e to mendmyi for cash, paid the same day

Sell Your iPhone 16e

We pay up to £321, paid the same day.

Condition is what determines the figure shown for your iPhone 16e. A cracked screen, damage to the body and a worn battery all lower the grade, but none of them stops us from buying the handset. The quote you are given is the quote you are paid, with no haggling once the device is checked on arrival.

Not sure whether a part is original? How to check a refurbished phone

Before you sell

We cannot buy a device that is still under contract or on finance, because until it is paid off you are not yet its legal owner. We also cannot buy a device that is part of an ongoing insurance claim, or that has been reported lost or stolen.

We record the name and address of everyone we buy from, and check them against photo ID and proof of address. HMRC requires it: buying from a private seller, we have to raise the purchase invoice ourselves and it must carry your details. Bring the documents into the shop and show us, or send a photo if the device is reaching us another way.

★★★★★ 4.9 from 763 reviews

Combined rating across Google, Trustpilot and Facebook reviews.

Paid the same day

Cash or bank transfer as soon as your device is checked, not store credit.

Price held 14 days

Once we send your offer it will not drop, so you have time to decide.

We repair, so faulty still pays

Cracked screen or worn battery is a job on our bench, not a write-off.

Not the iPhone 16e storage or condition you were looking for?

We buy a lot more than we list here. Older iPhones, Samsung and Pixel handsets, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBooks and games consoles all get a real offer, and a cracked or faulty device is still worth something to us because we repair them in house. Tell us what you have and we will come back with a firm price.

No obligation, and nothing to pay. We will not give you a number we cannot honour, so if we need to see it first we will say so.

Three steps

How selling your iPhone 16e works

No haggling, no waiting on a callback, and no offer that quietly drops when you arrive.

Get your price

Pick your iPhone 16e storage and condition above and the price we pay appears straight away, no waiting for a callback.

Get it to us, three ways

Walk into the shop, book a free collection from your door within 5 miles, or post it free from anywhere in mainland UK.

Paid the same day

Accept the offer and you are paid there and then, cash or bank transfer, never store credit.

How selling your phone works, start to finish →

Your price

What your iPhone 16e is worth depends on

Storage

Bigger storage means a better price. Tell the finder above which iPhone 16e you have and it prices that exact variant.

We buy the iPhone 16e in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities, and the storage you choose at the quote stage must match the handset. You can see exactly which capacity it has under Settings > General > About, so the description you give is accurate.

Screen condition

A cracked screen does not drop you to a faulty price. You keep the condition the phone is otherwise in and we simply take off what the glass costs us to replace, because we replace them ourselves.

Body and connector

Dents, scuffs and cracks to the casing are graded as part of the overall condition. A cracked back or a bent frame lowers the offer but rarely rules a device out.

There are three ways to get your iPhone 16e to us. You can book a free collection, drop it off at our Haverhill shop counter, or post it to us, and the offer is identical for each route.

Battery health

Our cut off is 90 per cent, so at or above that there is no deduction at all. Below it we take off what a genuine replacement costs us rather than calling the iPhone 16e faulty. Apple's own 80 per cent mark is a repair threshold, not a resale one.

Condition is the first thing we look at when your iPhone 16e arrives. A cracked screen, a damaged body or a worn battery all feed into the grade, and being open about them from the start means the figure we show stays the figure we pay.

Give the 4005 mAh battery a charge before the handset travels to us. The iPhone 16e needs enough power to switch on so we can confirm it runs and assess the battery; a completely drained device can stop that check in its tracks.

Whether it powers on

A device that boots and passes our checks is worth more than one that does not, but a dead handset is still worth telling us about rather than binning.

iCloud or Google account lock

We can only buy your iPhone 16e once it is signed out of iCloud, with Find My switched off.

Sign out of your Apple Account and turn off Find My before your iPhone 16e leaves your hands, whether it is collected, handed in at Haverhill or posted. A handset that still has either switched on is linked to you and cannot go through our checks until that is sorted.

Original parts matter to the price: an aftermarket screen, battery or camera fitted by someone else changes what we can pay. If you are not sure what is in your iPhone 16e, our guide on how to check a refurbished phone walks through what to look for.

Five minutes

Before you sell: five minutes that protect you

Do these before you hand the device over and the sale goes through without a hitch.

  • 1.Back up what you want to keep

Photos, contacts and anything else you would not want to lose. If an upgrade is replacing it, here is our guide to moving everything to your new phone.

  • 2.Sign out of iCloud or your Google account

Turn off Find My before you hand over the iPhone 16e. A device still signed in cannot be bought from you.

  • 3.Take out the SIM and any memory card

These are yours to keep and are not part of the sale.

  • 4.Note down the IMEI

Dial *#06# or check Settings to find it, in case you want a record for your own files.

No surprises

Ownership, ID and your data

Three things worth knowing before you sell anything to anyone, not just to us.

The device has to be yours to sell

We cannot buy a device that is still under contract or on finance, because until it is paid off you are not yet its legal owner. We also cannot buy a device that is part of an ongoing insurance claim, or that has been reported lost or stolen.

"This device is not under contract or finance, is not part of an insurance claim, and has not been reported lost or stolen - I own it outright."

We record name, address and ID on every purchase

We record the name and address of everyone we buy from, and check them against photo ID and proof of address. HMRC requires it: buying from a private seller, we have to raise the purchase invoice ourselves and it must carry your details. Bring the documents into the shop and show us, or send a photo if the device is reaching us another way.

It protects you as much as us: the purchase can always be traced back to a genuine sale rather than an anonymous one. A photocard driving licence showing your current address covers both documents on its own.

GOV.UK: VAT margin schemes, section 6.2

Your data is wiped at our shop

Once your device is checked in, it is fully wiped and factory reset at our shop before it goes anywhere else. Nothing of yours is left behind on it.

Locked in

Your price is held for 14 days

Once we send you an offer for your iPhone 16e, it is held for 14 days. That gives you time to compare us against the online recyclers before deciding, without the price moving under you.

Selling your iPhone 16e

If I sell my iPhone 16e, is the figure in my quote negotiable when it reaches you?

No. The figure you see when you request the offer is what we pay, not a starting point for haggling. When the handset arrives we simply confirm it matches the condition you described, so the amount does not get talked down.

Will a cracked screen and a worn battery on my iPhone 16e mean you refuse it?

No, they will not. Both are included in the condition grade, so we take the handset in that state and the offer is based on its overall condition rather than it being dismissed.

Is it essential to sign out of my Apple Account and Find My before my iPhone 16e is sold?

Yes, it is essential. If either is left active, the iPhone 16e is still linked to you and cannot be tested or transferred. Do both before you book the collection or send the device, otherwise the sale will stall.

I am a long way from your Haverhill shop. Does that limit how I can sell my iPhone 16e?

No, it does not. You can still book a free collection or post the device to us, and either route brings the same offer as dropping it off at the Haverhill counter.

If I hand my iPhone 16e in at Haverhill, what documents do I need and when is the payment sent?

You need photo ID and proof of address for every sale, with no exceptions. Payment goes out the same day we have confirmed those details, including when you hand the handset in at the Haverhill counter.

Would repairing my iPhone 16e make more sense than selling it to mendmyi?

It depends on whether you want to keep the phone or move it on. mendmyi repairs devices as well as buying them, so you can have your iPhone 16e fixed and keep it, or sell it as it is, without being pushed either way.
