Before your Pixel Fold leaves you, sign out of the Google account and make sure Factory Reset Protection is no longer active. A handset with a Google account still attached cannot move on to a new owner, so sorting this before collection avoids a needless hold-up.
Once your Google account is signed out, back up anything you want to keep and reset the Pixel Fold to factory settings. That removes your personal data and leaves the device in a clean state for inspection, with no risk of your files travelling further.

The device has to be yours to sell
We cannot buy a device that is still under contract or on finance, because until it is paid off you are not yet its legal owner. We also cannot buy a device that is part of an ongoing insurance claim, or that has been reported lost or stolen.

We record name, address and ID on every purchase
We record the name and address of everyone we buy from, and check them against photo ID and proof of address. HMRC requires it: buying from a private seller, we have to raise the purchase invoice ourselves and it must carry your details. Bring the documents into the shop and show us, or send a photo if the device is reaching us another way.
It protects you as much as us: the purchase can always be traced back to a genuine sale rather than an anonymous one. A photocard driving licence showing your current address covers both documents on its own.

No, a Pixel Fold that still has an active Google account attached cannot be processed. Sign out of the account and turn off Factory Reset Protection before the handset leaves you, and the check can proceed without delays.
