As Apple's entry-level iPhone, the 18e is expected around Spring 2027, likely trailing the standard 18 by the same gap Apple has kept between its numbered and e-line models in past years. We'll start repairing it the moment it's released, and until then, this page prices against the current iPhone 16e rather than guessing at 18e-specific costs.

What we expect to fix

Budget-line iPhones typically bring across chips and cameras from an older Pro model rather than debuting new hardware, so we'd expect the repair jobs on an 18e, screen and battery swaps most of all, to look much like the 16e's. We can't confirm which components it inherits until Apple actually says, so this page sticks to the repairs we know we'll be doing rather than the specs behind them.

Face ID and parts

A screen or battery replacement doesn't touch Face ID, which runs on its own sensor separate from either component, so that holds true on the 18e as much as any other current iPhone. Where a part is matched to the handset at the factory, fitting an uncalibrated one can bring up an "Unknown Part" note in Settings, which is informational rather than a fault; we'll explain that trade-off before you pick a repair option.
