iPhone 11 Screen and Battery Repair

An iPhone 11 screen replacement is £77 fitted at our Haverhill workshop, and a cracked screen is the commonest reason one arrives. A battery is £57. Both are usually done the same day. Apple's own out-of-warranty price for that screen is £219 plus VAT. Every repair carries a 12-month warranty, and the diagnostic that comes first costs nothing.

Why an iPhone 11 costs less to fix than an iPhone 11 Pro

The iPhone 11 has an LCD panel. Apple specifies it as a Liquid Retina HD display, a 6.1-inch all-screen LCD with IPS technology. The 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max launched on the same day with OLED panels, and OLED assemblies cost a good deal more to buy in. That one difference is why a screen on this model is £77 and the Pro sitting next to it on the bench is not. What passes Apple's Parts Configuration system

On an iPhone 11 that nobody has opened before, our screen passes Apple's Parts Configuration system. The battery does not, because Apple does not allow it on the 11 line.

You get an "Unknown Part" note under Settings > Parts and Service History, the battery health percentage carries on reporting as normal, and everything the phone did before it still does.

Face ID is untouched by either job. It runs off the TrueDepth camera at the top of the screen, which is separate hardware, and a routine screen or battery replacement does not go near it.

If another shop has already been inside the phone, the pairing may already be broken before it reaches us. We will do what we can without promising to get it back.

The four jobs an iPhone 11 actually comes in for

Nearly every iPhone 11 that reaches us needs one of four things:

• Screen at £77, usually same day
• Battery at £57, usually same day
• Charging port at £66, usually same day
• Back housing at £126, longer, because the phone moves into a new chassis

Liquid damage sits outside that list and starts with a £24 assessment, because until the phone is open nobody can honestly tell you what it needs.

What the battery health figure actually tells you

The iPhone 11 went on sale on 20 September 2019 with a 3110 mAh battery, so any still in use is around six years old. The first thing we check is the battery health figure. Between 80 and 90 percent, expect real problems rather than subtle ones: the last stretch of charge vanishes far quicker than the first, the phone runs warmer, and it starts switching off on its own with charge apparently still showing. At 80 percent or below we will tell you to replace it.

That threshold is ours, from the bench, and not Apple's. Apple's own 80 percent figure is a design-retention spec measured at 500 charge cycles under ideal conditions, not a replace-by number. Back glass on an iPhone 11 is a housing job

There is no glass-only price on this page, and that is deliberate rather than an omission. On the iPhone 11 the rear glass is bonded into the frame instead of sitting on it as a removable panel, so replacing it means moving the phone into a new housing: every internal component out of the old chassis and into the new one. That is why it is £126 and why it is a longer job than swapping a single part. Apple's out-of-warranty figure for the same damage is £369 plus VAT.

Which iPhone 11 have you got?

The iPhone 11 was sold as A2111, A2223 and A2221 depending on the market it was built for. All three take the same screen, battery and housing, so the price on this page applies whichever one you are holding. If you want to check, it is in Settings > General > About under Model Number. The number matters far more when you are buying a part than when we are fitting one.
